PGDM expands to Post Graduate Diploma, the confusion starts when you see the term Diploma. Many students are of the view that it is a Diploma course and not a Degree; you are right to an extent that it is a Diploma. The main reason why postgraduate courses are named as PGDM is because when an Institute is an autonomous body (meaning it is not affiliated to any University) and conducts management courses then such Institutes cannot offer MBA degree. Even IIMs, XLRI's doesn't offer MBA degrees they only give PGDM Diploma or PGDM since they are autonomous and independent bodies. Colleges which offer AICTE approved courses will also offer PGDM not MBA, for example ABC College is affiliated to Bangalore University they offer MBA course affiliated to that University, the same college is offering AICTE approved course it means they are offering PGDM which is not linked to Bangalore University. MBA A two year management degree expands to Master of Business Administration, only Universities can grant MBA degrees. It could be foreign university or Indian University.
According to specialization you haven't specify whats your graduation. i suggestion is Finance or HR.

M.Phil or PhD
MBA in respective specialization
You should stick by your domain in order to have an added advantage in the competitive market. At the same time, it is very important that you opt for or look at doing something that you are good at and would enjoy keeping in mind your personality, aptitude, ability, strengths and career goals.
If at all, you want to switch over, go ahead and pursue a career in journalism and mass communication.
After completing their course in J&MC one can work as a copywriter, advertising professional, journalist, news anchor and a PR Officer and so on.
Opportunities for placement in diverse fields of mass communication are available in publishing houses, radio and television companies, corporate world, entertainment industry, media industry, advertising agencies, public relations agencies, government organisations etc.
