This was the same dilemma I personally experienced during my initial stages of joining a MBA program. I am an Electrical Engineer. I personally suggest you to take Finance. This is a highly creative area for a numbers guy like you and me. Once you are in, I am 100% sure you will enjoy the course.
Also I would suggest you Operations as an other option. This is one good course were you can use your engineering knowledge too, but not the concepts. Satisfaction 100% guaranteed.
Coming to H.R., Bijoy you have to-have to work a lot. A lot in the sense a lot. Rather than your conscious part you must also use your unconscious brain. May be my words make you scary. This true experience of mine. Once you mastered you are the king.
About Job prospective, Finance pays more than H.R.

Hi, Aamir technically backlog means that the exam papers of previous academic year which you have failed to clear. In reference of engineering say of 4 years there will be 8 semesters. Now every semester has new subjects. If you have cleared all the subjects of each semester successfully with minimum passing marks ( depends on university or college you are pursuing engineering at ) then you will be called engineering graduate without any backlogs. Now if you are not able to clear one or two subjects in semester 1 then the university or college allows you to take it forward in the next semester but unless and until you do not clear all the subjects of all the semesters your engineering passing degree certificate will be withheld. For more help you should approach any engineering professor teaching in a college or university and has an experience of more than 15-20 years since they are aware of latest AICTE and UGC regulations.

The eligibility to appear for Dip IFRS is that the person needs to be a commerce graduate and can be from any commerce background like B com Hons Graduate fresher, masters in Finance, Accountant, CFA, CA, Corporate Banking, International Banking, Audit, Bills Payable, Bills Receivable etc.
Experience is always an added advantage but should have at least 2 years of experience. The duration of the training varies from Institute to Institute. It can be for 1 month to maximum 6 months as they have classes scheduled only on weekends.
The IFRS Exam is taken by the world's number one chartered Accountant Body ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants). The exam is scheduled twice in a year once in July and then in December. The applications for December opens in October and carry on till November mid or end which is a Subjective Exam scheduled at their prometric Centers.
The institutes who provide training for the IFRS Exam are :
