Animation is an art form and a very demanding career. It has ample opportunities for the creatively talented people. Opportunities lie in animation design, game design, graphics, storyboarding, 3d modelling, texturing and lighting, Dynamics and VFX and of course animation (2D and 3D). However, choosing between these must be done after seeing your performance in each of these. So going for a generic course covering all or most of these would be the best way to get started in these careers. Typically you should have good sketching skills to be able to make a sound career in this (if you work hard you can improve your drawing skills tremendously). Find below the eligibility criteria to pursue undergraduate degree from US.
- 12th pass from recognized education board (70%-80% plus)
- High scores in SAT.
- High scores in IELTS or TOEFL.
Preferred SAT scores 1800 plus.
Preferred TOEFL score- 80 plus.
Preferred IELTS score- 6 bands plus.
The eligibility criteria may vary from university to university.
Please remember application deadlines in American universities for international students are set by the department delivering each program, and these deadlines may be as early as 12 months before the program begins.
So, in order to know the exact application deadline it would be always advisable to browse through the university's website you wish to apply.
Overall,universities in US have 2 admission intake in a year namely:
- Fall(September) intake.
- Spring(January) intake.
In most of the universities the deadline for fall intake is July and for spring intake it is November.

* Complete 100 hours of Information Technology Training
* Complete Orientation Course (35 hours spread over one week).
* Pass Group I or both Groups of Integrated Professional Competence Examination
* Register as Articled Assistant for a period of 3 years.
* Pass Group II of IPCC if not already passed.
* Appear in Final Examination during last 6 months of 3 years of articled training.
* Pass both the Groups of Final examination.
* Get Final Examination Certificate.
* Complete remaining period of articled training, if applicable
