Just check the placements at NIFT in both and decide. Though It is an excellent place to be, as the entry is very selective but it depends from branch to branch when it comes to over all output of an institute.

Hi Himanshu. MNNIT considers students on account of JEE score. It is one of the very good institutes.
Now coming to non-JEE colleges, you have Bits, indraprastha university, Vellore, Manipal, srm and such good colleges that dont consider JEE score but take their own respective entrance tests. These colleges have best teaching faculties as well. I would not recommend dropping a year. Instead prepare for these. All the best!
