B.E is the study of the core which includes a lot of curriculum which is research oriented and B.Tech is more about the developed stream and the technologies used in the same. B.tech in India was introduced by the IITs and is seen more as a industrial curriculum.
Both the courses are great and have a thin line of difference, but the choice will depend on the student and the nature of his/ her career interest.
