Well dear, there are hundreds of Engineering Colleges in West Bengal whereas few for Medical. In 2009, the total number of Engineering seats were 20,077 and I think 5,000 were added again that year. However, last year counselling was gone upto 60,000. Even I have seen candidate with 59,000 rank getting good college like- IMPS College of Engineering, Malda. In 2010 Government has announced addition of 20,000 more seats which he has fulfilled. Simultaneously raising the number of Medical seats to 2,000 from 1200. You can learn basics of computer online and from books also. In the courses of some colleges, basics of computers is taught in the first year so don't take tension. You can go for BCA.

I think DTU is better option but if seen according to priority list which is best
NIT Durgapur, DTU, NIT Hamirpur & Jalandhar.
In NIT, Durgapur last year closing rank was 18112 so there is less chances but if take part in JOSSA counselling carefully then there will be a chances in Durgapur otherwise DTU is better option.

Diploma is a lower degree as compared to engineering. If you pursue Diploma, you will get a junior engineering degree. And if you pursue engineering as a graduation, you will be awarded a senior engineering degree. So, if you have completed your 10+2 then it is not worth for you to pursue Diploma. Are you interested in joining the Indian Army?

Friend your JEE Main rank is good but due to your 12th marks you will not be able to get NITs or IITs. But you can get government colleges in your state or in India or can go for private colleges also.
