here's how people do get the application fee waived or reduced:
Official admission drives / open days – sometimes Thapar shares fee waivers during school visits, education fairs, or webinars.
Tie-ups with schools – a few CBSE/ISC schools get a waiver or discount link directly from TIET.
Counselling rounds / special windows – occasionally during late rounds or category-based admissions.
Best bet: just mail or call the TIET admissions office and ask politely if any waiver is available for your category or score. People do get lucky.
