If you are comparing salaries, ME will have lower starting salary as compared to MBA, but future prospective are very good in ME as there are fewer people in technical specialization in most of the fields.
More the experience in technical field more will be your demand and more is the salary. MBA will give you a good exposure to corporate world. You have all the chances to get experience and climb up the ladder up to CEOs position. Both the fields are having good career growth.

India has highest number of newspapers/news channels operating simultaneously. Obviously, good journalists are always in demand.
Be a Journalist: You can start as a reporter/sub-editor in any news organization (print/broadcast). Apart from newspapers, you can also consider news magazines. Unfortunately, you cannot get regular Diploma in engineering certificate based on Diploma from institution of civil engineer, unless you join and undergo formal education in a polytechnic. You can seek lateral entry admission in 2nd year of B.Tech in universities such as Manipal, etc. based on your Diploma earned by distance learning.
