Lucrative job opportunities are available for fisheries graduates. After possessing degree of B.F.Sc, you can apply for the post of instructor, research assistant, biochemist, biologist, technicians, etc.
You can apply in the fisheries department of state government for the post of inspector of fisheries/research assistants, sub-inspector of fisheries, assistant directors, assistant fisheries development officer (AFDO) / fisheries extension officer (FEO) and fisheries development officer (FDO).
Central agencies also recruit fisheries graduates as technical officers and assistant directors in:
1. Marine Product Export Development Authority (MPEDA).
2. Export Inspection Agency ( EIA).
3. Coastal Aquaculture Authority of India (CAA).
4. Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
5. Fisheries Survey of India (FSI).
6. National Institute of Oceanography (NIO).
7. Indian National Centre for Ocean and Information Services (INCOIS) – Hyderabad.
In addition to this, there is also a scope of self-employment in this field. After owning degree of B.F.Sc, you can also open your own enterprise.
You will also get the opportunity to work in abroad where you can do business in the field of aquaculture, fish processing export and import. Fisheries professionals in aquaculture sectors are demanded in African countries.
In the field of fisheries, you can become an aquaculturist, farm managers, exporters, traders, breeders and modern fishermen, etc.

In regular M.Tech, you have to go to college and maintain a certain attendance percentage to be eligible to appear for exams. In part time M.Tech, you have to go to college only to appear for exams.
In M.Tech, not all subjects are easy. In most of the subjects, you would need some expert guidance to understand them. In regular M.Tech, you can get such expert guidance from the faculty members. However, in part time M.Tech, enough guidance won't be available.
In regular M.Tech, regular laboratory sessions help to understand how the theoretical concepts in books apply in the real world. However, this option isn't available in part time M.Tech.
In part time M.Tech, there is no scope for on-campus placement. Most of the companies demand for regular M.Tech with focus on internships and final year projects. So, part time M.Tech lose quite a lot of placement options.
