I would suggest you to appear for IIT JEE and AIEEE. These two entrance examinations provide admissions to IITs/NITs and other government colleges, which are cost-effective.
I would also suggest you to appear for individual state examinations (OJEE in Odisha, EAMCET in Andhra Pradesh/Telangana, COMEDK in Karnataka, etc.). These exams also guarantee you good colleges and serve as a backup in case things don't end up the way you've planned for IIT/AIEEE.

You have not mentioned your education background and neither your interests or plans. Secondly, the course choice is something you must decide solely on your career orientation and subject interests. Weigh your choices and decide accordingly.

This is a wrong notion that a course will help you to get a visa. You should study as per your own interest. Until and unless, you are confident of your own skills you won't get admissions and forget visa. Why there is a gap of 2 years?
