Well there are several institutes offering M.tech courses and for each of these institutes may differ in there admission procedure. Not just GATE is the entrance by which one can get admission but there are several University conducted exams as well and regional exams like TAN CET for the Tamil Nadu state.

even i hav applied 4 it bt noida.many frnz r satisfied wid dier placements in dat as well as courses. while sm say its jst a brand name. bt since dAT univ has a gr8 cmpus. n well gud placements n scholarships if u perform very well. i guess i find it a beter option dan any local college. if u hav a gud boards score u cn apply for SASTRA chennai too

If you want to join any good college for B.Tech, you have to write the entrance examination. If you have not appeared for entrance examination this year, it is advisable to take a drop and start preparation for next year Entrance examination. It is advisable to join good college even if you have to take a year drop for same rather than joining some C grade college for B.Tech.

Well as you have completed your B.A. in English, then you should try to pursue your Masters in English only as this is the subject in which you specialized in. The subject will provide bright career opportunities as in teaching and education, PR, journalism etc.
