Dear Abhishek, all depends on your category. But I feel it won't be sufficient for top N.I.Ts. You may get it easily in north-eastern N.I.Ts. Dropping a year for good preparation is on rise of-late. But personally I am against it of wasting a precious year. You may try in many best private colleges with this rank or go for second rung N.I.Ts. All the very best.

Vikas the answer in usually a no unless you're very brilliant in which case you'd already had taken Btech CS earlier. in case you've been good in programming then move on to MCA. If you've not been good then take a relook at your career and move to something else like design for instance. If you're creative, you can always consider going for Design and Animation. A good mentor and wise selection of courses with a good school, followed by diligent learning, would get you a head start in your career. However, you must check your suitability for this field. Personally speaking I would prefer that you do job for few years and then do MBA with specialization in IT-Infrastructure. But in case you want to change your area of work then you must do MBA immediately by regular mode of education and opt for a specialization subject related to the field in which you want to persue your career. The other option is to do M.Tech / M.E.
