You cannot get seat in the Vellore campus and a good branch in VIT with rank of 50000. But still you have chances if seats are not occupied in some cases. Therefore, you will be able to secure the seats.

SASTRA University is far better/more recognised than SASTRA University. You would have better opportunities/placements at Anna University. Anna University stands in top 10 list of best Engineering colleges in India, where SASTRA stands somewhere between 40 to 60. With that said SASTRA is not bad either, I am a SASTRA alum but given a chance, I would do my engineering at Anna.
