Basics of management education are the same . Pgdm syllabus is considered much more contemporary and industry oriented, subject to the college one choses, as compared to MBA curriculum. Pgdm is slowly gaining momentum on better career prospects than a University MBA degree , syllabus for which is generally reviewed every 5 yrs. It is possible to pursue 2 courses together. However, one has to decide which course to pursue as a regular mode of learning and which from distance/correspondence.
Though it will be little difficult to manage both at the same time, you can plan out your schedule and complete both with little extra hard work and dedication.
