Have you gain any work experience? You need to clarify the meaning of gaps. Admissions are university centric, if you have a good profile, then they will provide your admission. You must meet the admission requirements like GRE/ GMAT, etc.

MS programs are competitive and especially if you are applying to a research based program. Your grades are fine however admissions committee will also consider your reference letters, personal statement, GRE scores and overall application. Chances could be high if you work on your overall profile, visit university websites before applying.

You definitely need to score 75 percent or more in your 12th. This only will make you eligible to get admission in NIT. You of course need to study for JEE Mains. Good AIR only will enable you to get a in NIT. Still, there's sometime left. Utilise it in overcoming weak areas that I am sure you must have found out by now.
