National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) conducts NIFT entrance exam in order to shortlist aspirants for admission in design programmes offered by it. Each year, more than 20,000 students appear for NIFT exam. On the basis of NIFT exam, candidates can secure admission in courses such as Bachelor of Design (BDes), Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFTech), Master of Design (MDes), Master of Fashion Management (MFM) and Master of Fashion Technology (MFTech).
NIFT entrance exam pattern is tiered in its format for BDes and MDes part of the NIFT entrance exam 2019 candidates need to first appear for Creative Ability Test (CAT), which is followed by a General Ability Test (GAT). The final admission round for BDes course is a Situation Test and that for MDes is GD/PI round. On the other hand, for BFTech course admissions candidates need to appear for GAT only whereas for MFTech and MFM programmes candidates need to appear for GAT and GD/PI admission.
