The National Institute of Design will release the admit cards for the DAT Mains for the B. Des program tentatively in the 2nd week of April 2025.

The admit cards will be released online at the admission portal of NID.

To download the admit card, you need to login by using your email id and date of birth.

On the day of the DAT Mains exam, you need to bring the admit card and a valid photo id proof. The DAT Mains exam for the B. Des program will be conducted around the last week of April 2025.

Meanwhile, admit cards for the M.Des program will be released tentatively in the 4th week of February 2025. The DAT Mains exam for the M.Des program will be conducted starting March 2025. 

Both B.Sc. Operation theatre and Anaesthesia and B.Sc. Dialysis are good courses in terms of job opportunities and salary, but the choice depends on individual interest and career goals.

B.Sc. Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia course deals with the preparation of operation theatre before surgery, maintenance of a sterile environment during surgery, and anesthesia administration to the patient. This field serves a crucial role in a hospital, and the demand for trained professionals is always high. After completion of the course, one can work as an Operation Theatre Technician, Anesthesia Technician, or Anesthesia Assistant in hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic centers. The salary range for these positions is between INR 2 and 4 LPA depending on experience and location. 

B.Sc. Dialysis course prepares the students to operate and maintain the dialysis machine, record patient data, and monitor the patient during the dialysis process. After completion of the course, one can work as a Dialysis Technician in hospitals, dialysis centers, and nursing homes. The salary range for these positions is between INR 1.5 and 3 LPA, depending on experience and location. 

Admission to the NIDs is conducted through the NID Entrance Examination. The NID exam has two stages - the candidate first appears in the that Prelims. Scores of the that Prelims are used to then shortlist candidates for that Mains. The final merit list for NID DAT 2026 will be prepared by giving weightage to that Prelims and that Mains. Note that the National Institute of Design hasn't yet released the weightage for the that Prelims and that Mains.

The NID DAT 2026 (Prelims) exam will be on December 21, 2025. Meanwhile, the DAT exams for the M.Des programme will be conducted tentatively in March, whereas DAT Mains for the B. Des programme will be conducted in April 2026.

NID DAT application form is closed for 2026-2027.

To register for NID DAT, candidate has to 

1. Get registered:  Candidate had to get registered using their email ID and mobile number.
2. Log-in and fill the form - Fill in all the necessary sections in the form: academic, personal, and contact details. Also, select an exam centre of your choice.
3. Upload documents - Follow specified format and specification when uploading documents like photographs and signatures.
4. Pay the exam fee to complete the application process. NID DAT 2026 fee is expected to be around Rs. 3000 for open, and Rs. 1500 for reserved-category candidates. A late fee of 50% more than can be charged by NID for registration if the application forms are not filled out after the deadline.
