There are many modes through which you can join ISRO as a scientist or engineer. After 12th or during 12th, you can appear for IIST exam (Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology IIST Trivandrum). To know details of this exam, please see the IIST website www.iist.ac.in. IIST graduates above a certain pass percentage cut off in final B.Tech exam are directly absorbed in ISRO system as Scientist/Engineer -SC grade. One can also join ISRO after finishing B.Tech from the university system. For this, they have to appear for ISRO centralized recruitment. The advertisement for this is often published in national newspapers. You can also join ISRO after completing M.Sc M Tech and Ph.D in science subjects like physics, maths, electronics, geology, geophysics, etc. Advertisement for such positions also given in national newspapers. Eligibility criteria & Admission procedure :-
Candidates from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics stream securing at least 60% normalized marks or normalized CGPA of 6.00 out of 10 in Mathematics in Intermediate or Class XII of any recognized Board of Secondary Education would be eligible for admission.
For SC/ST category 5% concession will be given
Candidate should appear in the JEE (Main) 2013 conducted by CBSE and they should also apply in DEI on the prescribed application form for the admission in the month of May/June 2018.
Final selection is made from the merit list prepared on the basis of academic merit, performance in the written objective test and personal interview.
Admission is based on the marks obtained in class 10th, 12th, JEE Mains and personal interview.
Selection criteria and weightage:
Class 10th - 5%
Class 12th - 60%
JEE Mains - 15%
Personal Interview - 20%
