The basic difference between M.Tech (M.E) and M. S. is that M.Tech is a course centric programme focused mainly toward Industries and M. S is a research centric programme.
1. First and foremost, admission to an M.Tech programme depends on the candidate GATE score and in some case Institutes Internal tests, whereas, admission to an M. S. programme depends on the score of the entrance exam as well as the interview round.
2. In M.Tech, the student is trained to work in an industry as well as take up some research work. As far as M. S. is concerned, the students are trained to take up a career in research in an industry or academia.
3. Another important difference between M.Tech and M. S. programme is the duration of the course. The M.Tech has a course duration of strictly 2 years, after which the students get there degree. However, the course duration of M. S. can extend even up to 3 or 4 years, depending on the status of the project. The M. Lovely Professional University (LPU) is now accepting applications for admission to its B.Sc.(Hons.) Agriculture program for the academic session 2025-26. The admission process is online through the university website.

Phase 1 is scheduled from May 1, 2025 to May 15, 2025. Candidates that qualify in Phase 1 can complete their admissions by May 15, 2025 there will be additional phases if needed and the end of admissions for B.Sc. Agriculture (as with all undergraduate programs), is June 30, 2025.

Admissions to B.Sc (Hons.) as well as all programs at LPU are dependent on merit or score in the LPUNEST (Lovely Professional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test) and is open now! Phase 4 of LPUNEST started on May 3, 2025 and results are declared within 24 working hours following the exam.

To be eligible to be admitted to the B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture program each applicant needs to have completed and passed 10+2 (10 + 2 standard) with Biology, Chemistry, or Agriculture and obtained at least 50% aggergate marks. The B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture is a four year program that includes practical training, internships, and research.
