In order to pursue MBA, you need to be graduate in any field with atleast 50% marks in graduation, plus you need to take various management entrance tests like CAT,MAT,XAT, etc.
Please note that the final selection in MBA is made on the basis of:
- Educational background of the students.
- Scores in various management entrance test.
- Performance in group discussion and personal interview.
- Work experience if any.

Since you interested in going for civil services, you may fully concentrate on that for now because that would take up ample amount of your time. You may pursue MBA anytime later on.
But if you think you may manage both and money is not a problem then it is a good idea to have a degree in hand.
Since you are a humanities graduate, a degree in management will only widen your career scope and it would be a good investment. I'm myself a humanities student and pursuing my PGPM in full time and MBA in correspondence for a degree in MBA.
If you change your mind about civils later on, you can always go for a full time MBA which is any day better than a correspondence. Honestly, a correspondence is only for a degree and broad theoretical knowledge if you study the books thoroughly while the real learning with experiential knowledge is in full time. There is no competition in that regard. That is the way for you if you change your mind about joining civil services.
But if you are keen and high on preparation for your CSAT and MBA is just a last option, then a correspondence will be good. You may check out the courses of institutes like IGNOU, ICFAI university and Symbiosys. While ICFAI and IGNOU provide a degree, Symbiosis provides a PGPM. Once you make up your mind, you can do a research for the best institute for you to join.

MBA is a holistic course which deals with management aspects, the major specialization in MBA are:
- Finance.
- Marketing.
- Human resources. etc.
All the specializations fields mentioned above are good to pursue and all offers good career prospects and excellent growth opportunities.
I would suggest that before opting for any specialization you must first decide in which field you wish to build your career and accordingly you can select the best specialization as per your interest and liking.
As a student you should give your 100% in whichever specialization you opt for, and if you do well then getting a good job with handsome salary should not be a problem.
