US CFA is altogether a different prog.and is in no comparison to an MBA course.CFA if done from US, is extremely good ,as this is a prog. which is in immense demand these days.
If you go step by step,it is better to do an MBA -finance first and gain experience in the industry and then go for CFA.- as it is also a very high end prog. and is expensive also.

Preparing for U.P.S.C requires combination of smartness and hard work. Do the right things to gain an edge over your competition:
*Get the right books for Prelims
*Start preparing at least 10 months before
*Solve past year questions to test yourself on regular basis
*Cover the scoring sections early
*Cover the syllabus strategically. Don't go for a "prepare all" approach for prelims
*Balance paper 1 and 2
I would suggest you to spend quality time everyday by reading journals, magazines, newspapers, etc. You may also refer the books below:
