Entrance testa have current affairs, GK, creative writing, elocution etc. which should not be very difficult. Kindly do a Mass Communication & Journalism course This a better pathway to a career than going directly into the field.
From my experience of teaching working in the media industry, I would recommend a good university awarded Grade A by the Government of India provided its fees are low but faculty is excellent. Your English language is also important and it will improve automatically if you study in a good University's Mass Communication & Journalism Department and there would be no need to pursue a language course separately, In fact, you can do an MA Degree in Journalism & Mass Communication.
The places I will recommend are IIMC, Delhi, SIMC, Pune and Nitte University, Mangalore. The University's advantage is that it gives a degree helpful for higher education later. Check the fees before you apply.
