If you were so sure about an MBA, why opt for B.Tech in the first place? Now that you gave taken this decision, it is better to focus on B.Tech for the time being. The graduate percentage is an important criteria and is considered by all top schools for final selection. Even at a B-School, you would be judged on your percentage in 10th, 12th and graduation.

Dear Sunder!
I'm afraid to say that with 34 percentile, you can not even imagine to be in top B -School. You know that in today's market, where even 2 graded colleges are asking for 85+ percentile. Your 34 will stand nowhere. Hence Sunder, my suggestion is that you do two things; (1) Take a year drop and again appear in CAT exam and try to clear it with 95% tile. Not just CAT but prepare hard for GMAT also. This will maximise your chance of success. (2) During this year drop, font just spend your time in coaching but gain some job experience. This will enhance the chance of selection. Because you know that how much this work experience

Choose PCM stream in 10+2. There are different requirements of different colleges but the basic one is at least 60% marks but actually you must have 80% for getting admission in a good institution. I would suggest you IGA, Delhi which is one of the best in India. Duration of courses also vary from college to college.
All the best for your future.
