yes, u can but u may be asked to prove tht u been a student with periyar for 3 yrs. U can appear and clear 3 yrs paper in one year which is allowed in distance education. U keep moving to next yr irrespective of whether u have appeared, cleared or not cleared ur previous yr/sem papers.

If u want to go for distance education then go for AMIE/IETE/IIIE. these courses are equiv to BE and recognised by AIU/MHRD/UPSC/GATE/IITs/IISC. they hv good value in the market.
