Start reading good English magazines and news papers, and while reading underline the words for which you do not know the meaning, then refer to the dictionary and find out the meaning of the word.
You should start watching English news channel, this will help you to know,how to modulate your voice while speaking.
Make a list of frequently used words that you find difficult to pronounce and ask someone who speaks the language well to pronounce them for you.

As per 2012 NIT surat cut off data.I can say that you will get admission if you have any reservation otherwise not.Better Tell me your home state rank so that I can tell you will get NIT or not. Still you can try for Maharastra Institute of Technology this also the institute accepts JEE mains score.Please attend the JEE mains counselling so that you can try admission in NIT in your home state
