The remuneration of MBA in tourism students is dependent upon the type of organizations that takes them in.
Freshers may earn around Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 25,000 each month. With increase in experience individuals can make as much as Rs. 30,000 - Rs. 35,000 every month. This will go up as you gain more experience.
In order to be successful in this field you need to have below mentioned skills:
- Business skills, resourcefulness.
- Appreciation of tourist destinations.
- Acumen for solving problems.
- Interest in culture and customs.
- Good communication skills.
Career opportunities exist both in India as well as abroad,in the public sector, there are opportunities in the directorates and departments of tourism of the centre and the state as officers, information assistants, tourist guides etc.
Another good prospectus for qualified tourism professionals are in the private sector with travel agencies, tour operators, airlines, hotels, transport and cargo companies etc.
