If you are appearing for CAT 2011, just start solving previous year question papers of CAT and FMS.
Well I can tell you the strategy I followed and landed up with IIM Calls. I did the course completely, each and every question in my own. This gave me confidence.
A few suggestions
1. If you feel you dont have good grab over quants and DI concepts, start doing RS Agarwal, a very basic book. If ones concepts are clear, he/she can easily crack CAT
2. For vocabulary portion, start doing Norman Lewis and then do it using the Flash cards. for verbal reasoning, practice from Arun Sharma.

for IIMA and IIMC, the cutoff is 99.5 percentile overall with sectional above 95 percentile each
for IIMB, L, I, K you need to get above 95 percentile with balanced sectionals.
For rest of the IIMs like shillong, ranchi, rohtal etc, try securing above 90 percentile overall.
