Poonam.I am a UK MBA graduate and have been living here in UK for the past 19 years. There are many factors you should consider before you make a decision to apply for MBA.
1. As mentioned by Ramdhan, first you should get some work experience. Most of the good business schools in UK expect two or three years of work experience. London Business School is one of the best in the world. You must have atleast 5 years of work experience in a reputed firm in a responsible position.
2. GMAT score of atleast 680. IELTS score of 7.0.
3. LBS is a very expensive place to study. It could cost more than twice the fees of other business schools in UK. Usually fees in a good business school in UK is around £13000.
4. I have come across many students without any work experience planning to study MBA (with no rational explanation behind choosing their major like Finance, Marketing, HRM etc). If you decide to start working immediately, the industry in which you gain experience or your actual job will probably be the deciding factor for choosing your major.
5. Finally, UK alongwith the rest of the world is going through a severe recession at the moment. So the chances of getting a job in UK after completing MBA are very limited for those who are not UK or EU citizen.
