Here is the Eligibility Criteria to get into NSD:
Graduation in any subject from a recognized university in India and abroad
Participation in at least 6 theatre productions
Working knowledge of Hindi and English
Age limit: Minimum 20 years maximum 30 years (as on July 1, 2014)
Selection Criteria
An expert committee constituted by the School will assess the aptitude and talent of the candidates and its decision will be final.
A preliminary test/audition will be conducted at five centres, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Guwahati
The candidates qualifying in this test will have to attend a workshop of 4 or 5 days in the NSD premises for final selection
All selected students will be awarded scholarship of Rs 6000 p.m. to meet their academic and other expenses.
Students selected for admission will have to undergo a medical test for physical fitness at NSD, New Delhi.
There wil be two medium to conduct exam i.e. Hindi and English. Candidates can choose among them.
How to apply:
To receive the application form and prospectus (English/Hindi) by post, write to the Academic Section, National School of Drama, Bahawalpur House, Bhagwandas Road, New Delhi-110001 along with a crossed demand draft/pay order, payable at Delhi of Rs 225 (Rs two hundred twenty five only) including postal charges in favour of the Director, National School of Drama, New Delhi.
Application form can also be downloaded from the School website www.nsd.gov.in from March 20, 2014 onward.
The downloaded form must be sent along with a demand draft of Rs 150 in favour of the Director, National School of Drama, New Delhi in an envelope titled Applications for Admission 2014-17
Application forms must reach the Academic Section, National School of Drama, Bahawalpur House, Bhagwandas Road, New Delhi-110001 on or before April 15, 2014

Firstly I would advise you to see whether the skills required to be an actor match up with your personality or not and then only wisely make up a decision.
SKILLS REQUIRED :-
Ability to enter a character's shoes when performing
Stamina for long rehearsals, shoots or performances
Clear speech & diction, voice control
Love for the art
Adaptability, ability to work with a team, discipline and responsibility
Empathy & imagination to understand & express the emotions of characters
Resilience & ability to cope with uncertainty
Uninhibited before unfamiliar audiences
Good memory to learn/memorise one's part
Ability to honour long-term time commitments
Patience, dedication and hard work
Talent, intelligence, vivid creativity and self-confidence. Ability to sing and dance can improve prospects
Mental & physical strength to cope with the demands of the job
Good general health is also important
If your skills match up with the skills above mentioned, then only
I would advice you to take it up as a career.
