Sonam, Design is a field that is age old &has been evolving every year like science. The world has changed a lot and a lot of new & wonderful careers in design have come up. It totally depends on what you want to do in the long run and what you are good at. I will give you few examples. Lets say you have really good quantitative skills, then you could prefer Finance stream or if you are really good at people skills, you might go for sales and marketing.
Having said that, most people in India end up studying engineering because everyone around them is studying the same. After engineering most people end up doing MBA for the same reason. Most people till this point do not have a clear idea of what they want to do in the long run and post MBA they end up choosing consulting or general management / product management roles. I believe it is better to be undecided at this point rather than look at what everyone is doing and pick that stream.
Also it is important to understand that MBA gives you an opportunity to switch job streams, once you are in wrong job because you did not pick it based on your liking, chances are that you will be stuck with that job.
Hence, choose wisely.

After 12th I would suggest you to go for BBA. In BBA you can make you career in unconventional yet demanding fields like Travel & Tourism. You can pursue BBA in Hospitality, Travel & Tourism. There are various career options available these days. However, I would recommend that you first concentrate on your 10th standard as it is very crucial in setting up a firm foundation.
Before you decide what to do after 10th std, it is important that you become aware of a critical factor for success in your chosen profession. Your exam scores are one part of it considering how competitive it is to land a seat in the hallowed campuses of the IITs and other prestigious institutions. For this reason alone, it is important that you take your 10th, 11th & 12th studies seriously.
Science, Commerce & Humanities are the three streams available after 10th for 11th & 12th class studies and you have to choose one of them for your further studies.
Science: it is the gateway to professional courses and career options such as engineering and medicine. Also, students from a science background can apply for commerce, humanities courses in college but the same does not hold true the other way around.
Commerce: students who are serious about pursuing a career in finance, accounts, chartered accountancy, economics, banking, business and management. Well this is one common problem which every other student faces once he enters into 11th grade. You have taken PCM with the aim of engineering, I suppose. So my advise will be that you focus on your core subject most and in between just keep in touch with the remaining ones so that you remain updated with atleast whats happening in it. Once in a week or so devote extra time to cover up as much as possible in those subjects. In this way you will be able to make a good balance between all subjects.
You will realize that board examinations aren't that difficult and you can sail through them easily if your core subjects concepts are clear.
