Securing a seat at Bangalore Medical College & Research Institute (BMCRI) with a NEET score of 610-630 depends on your category and the competition in that year. Historically, for general category students, BMCRI's cut-off scores range around 610-630 for state quota seats and higher for all-India quota seats. There are a very few job vacancies in mechatronics for freshers in very few organisations. Since you will not study some core subjects of mechanical engineering, you won't be able to clear GATE or any other exam. It might be a problem a problem if your goal is to do job.
For knowledge and projects- mechatronics:
It's obviously better in many ways. Thing is that you will neither be as good as a mechanical engineer nor as good as an electronics engineer so all you would be able to do is make projects and learn about both fields simultaneously.
