There are no particular marks but there will be the closing and opening ranks for each NIT in India that varies every year.
This year the cut off marks for each caste have gone low. So if your score is 260 and above then there might be some chances. But for general category you need to have 300 and above. Your all India rank should be at least 4000 or below to get NIT Trichy.
If you mention your all India rank and category rank then I may tell whether you can get it or not.

FAKE! Always Check DGS Site for Affiliated Institutes and another pro tip I'd like to give is that the market is very tight , Jobs are scarce for cadets. Only few Institutes like Anglo Eastern Maritime Academy and Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies and Great Eastern Institute of Maritime Studies and Tolani Maritime Institute have a fair chance of placements.

Every state offers this facility to diploma holders of that state. Normally entrance exam is conducted for giving admission by lateral entry.
