Check your expected rank at Shiksha rank predictor. Though I think it should be around 40k. So if you belong to general category your chances of core branch at NITs are less but you may get some new ones.

Hi, the minimum percentage required to pursue Masters in sociology from Jamia Millia Islamia is 55%. Since you have 49%, so you are not eligible to give entrance exam for the same. You can try for some other college.

Hello,
Your CGPA does not play any role in your ranks in JEE exams. It is only for the eligibility to get a seat. You need to cross the cut off marks based on your category and only then you can write JEE Advanced exam.
