The MAT Internet Based Test (IBT) mode has become increasingly popular among MBA aspirants over the last three years due to its flexibility and convenience. Introduced by the All India Management Association (AIMA) in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the IBT mode allows candidates to take the MAT exam from the comfort of their homes. This remote proctored exam provided a secure alternative during the pandemic, eliminating the need for candidates to leave their homes. Despite the easing of COVID-related concerns, candidates continue to prefer the IBT mode for its accessibility. This mode also benefits students in areas without a MAT test center, requiring only a computer system and internet connection.

The MAT (Management Aptitude Test) is characterized by diverse features that define its structure and evaluation process. The examination offers flexibility through three distinct modes: Computer Based Test (CBT), Paper Based Test (PBT), and Internet Based Test (IBT). With a total duration of 150 minutes, MAT comprises five sections, namely Language Comprehension, Data Analysis & Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, and Indian & Global Environment. In total, there are 200 questions evenly distributed across these sections, with 40 questions in each. The scoring system is meticulous, granting one mark for every correct response while imposing a penalty of -0.25 for each incorrect entry. Importantly, candidates are encouraged to approach the examination strategically, as leaving a question unattempted results in a score of zero. This comprehensive framework ensures a thorough assessment of candidates' skills and knowledge across various domains.

In order to qualify for the MAT exam, candidates must meet specific academic criteria set by the agency in accordance with government regulations. The eligibility criteria for the MAT exam in 2023 are as follows: Applicants should have successfully completed their graduation in any discipline or possess an equivalent degree from a recognised university. Additionally, students in their final year of graduation awaiting their results are also eligible to apply for MAT 2023. Notably, there is no minimum score requirement for MAT, and candidates with passing marks are eligible to appear for the exam. Furthermore, individuals who have attained a professional degree such as CA, CS, or ICWA are also eligible to apply for the MAT exam. These diverse eligibility criteria aim to provide opportunities for a wide range of candidates to participate in the Management Aptitude Test. There is no age limit to undertake the MAT exam.

Management Aptitude Test is a national-level examination conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA). This exam takes place multiple times a year, providing candidates with opportunities to participate in various sessions. MAT is offered in three different modes: Computer Based Test (CBT), Paper Based Test (PBT), and Internet Based Test (IBT). The duration of the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes. The MAT syllabus includes sections on Language Comprehension, Data Analysis & Sufficiency, Mathematics (Quantitative Aptitude), Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, and Indian & Global Environment. The language of the exam is English. As for the fees, candidates need to pay INR 2,100 to register for the MAT exam.
