In case, you don't get your desired college, don't settle for something mediocre. Instead of settling down for some mediocre college, it would be better, if you try for some good private university. Many reputed private universities are offering B.Tech in different branches. They have different criteria for admissions. Some offer admission on the basis of JEE scores, some offer admission on basis of their own tests and some offer admission on the basis of both. Some even offer direct admission on basis of class 12th marks. Some of the universities also offer scholarships on basis of your performance in class 12th or JEE or their own tests. You can check the details of any of the reputed universities like VIT, Lovely Professional University, SRM, etc. All these universities have a wonderful infrastructure and world-class facilities to offer to students apart from good placements. Salary is a function of various factors - i.e. (i) the institute where you have completed your B.Tech + M.Tech. e.g. a graduate from a top institute will command a higher salary. (ii) Your work experience - organization and type of work profile (iii) city - a metropolitan city will have higher salaries as compared to smaller cities and towns. (iv) Your current organization - i.e. where you will be joining - an MNC usually has higher salaries as compared to other organizations. (v) Your work profile i.e. Manager/ AVP, etc. Thus one cannot allocate a figure.
