Most institutes offering the course admit students based on performance in a relevant entrance test. Admission process generally varies across colleges. A few institutes also provide direct admission based on the candidates' performance at the 10th level.

The isn't any special preparation that an engineering candidate have to do. The only barrier would be the basics of Accounts as it is new for a non commerce student. So prepare for Accounts as well along with Entrance test (like CAT/CMAT/MAT). Rest all are very similar. Statistics is already taught to a Maths candidate, it makes Economics easier for you.
