1) To be a food inspector, you need to pass All India Food Inspector Exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission for the recruitment in various offices all over the country.
2) Eligibility Criteria for the All India Food Inspector Exam :
** The candidate should be a graduate in medicine and should have undergone training in food Inspection.
OR
** The candidate should have completed Bachelor's degree in any of the science subjects. They must have studied Chemistry as a subject in their qualifying course.
OR
** Graduates in Agriculture/Pharmacy/Food Technology/ Dairy Technology are also eligible to apply for this test.
** Final year students can also apply for this exam.
** The candidates who have a degree from certified universities only are eligible for this exam.
** The candidate must be an Indian citizen
** Age limit for General category is 21 to 30 yrs. 3 yr and 5 yr relaxations are applicable for OBC and SC/ST candidates respectively.
