Hi,
As per the recent UGCguideline none of the engineering programmes can be offered under distance mode hence you should opt for the evening courses offered by various universities. For example if you are staying at Hyderabad, you can do the same from JNTU.
As an alternative, you can opt DOEACC programmes and also ALCCS (= Ph.D) from IETE. ALCCS is also a part time course not a distance.

There is no need to fear as such for the placements for which you are going to try after an year. The best practice is to make your technical fundamentals strong, enhance your vocal communication, improve upon your other soft skills and focus on the business areas / companies where you wish to get a job. If you have a palcement department in your college then they can also help you in this matter. nother important think is to make and keep contact in the business houses and with persons who are in the same career in which you wish to go.
