UGC, University Grant Commision is the apex body of govt of india and its job is to regulate and recognise Universities. Universities offer Degree such as BE/ B Tech.
AICTE's Job is to acrediate technical coursee like BE / B Tech offered directly from Universities or through University affiliated coleges.
In case of section 2f private Universities established under respective state act AICTE's acrcrediation is not mendetory;{There are few State Govt University like Aliah University in Kolkata,West Bengal offered BE / Btech without AICTE approval} and since section 2f universities approved by UGC.
