Hello Amar,
The choice of the engineering branch depends on your interest.
Below mentioned are the reasons:
1. Market conditions vary every 6 months to 1 year. Engineering is a 4 year course. There is a high chance that the field which looks the most promising at the time of taking admission might not be good when you complete engineering.
2. Engineering mostly involves practical skills rather than theoretical knowledge. If you choose a stream based on market trends, chances are that you might not be able to understand the subject properly. This may result in lesser grades and impact on practical skills.
I hope it helps. If so, kindly upvot

If your CAT/XAT scores meet our minimum requirements (75%+ in all sections and 85%+ overall) then we can accept your scores in case you've already registered for PGDM admissions 2017 by December 16, 2016.
Further, for the graduation and higher secondary scores, we don't have any specific cutoff. A decent profile is what SPJIMR looks for in a candidate.

The chances of getting scholarship depend on your overall profile. You can try for scholarship, but it is entirely on the university's discretion, whether to offer scholarship or not.

You have slight chances of getting calls from IIT-Kanpur / Madras, if you have applied for them. It's difficult to get calls from IIMs. Just check for any mails you receive from newer IIMs like IIM -Srinagar, Bodhgaya and Sambalpur. Apart from these you can apply for colleges like IFMR, Great Lakes, ITM-Mumbai, Christ University-Bangalore and others.
