Normally speaking, a student chooses Diploma when need for early job is perceived. Diploma is actually a skill imparting course. If you can afford to spend money for your studies then I would advise you to go for lateral admission in course for graduation in engineering. However if there is a financial constraint then I suggest you take up some job immediately after completion of Diploma and then after couple of years think of doing graduation in engineering. You can also do AMIE which is equivalent to graduation in engineering for all practical purposes. Best wishes to you.

Your daughter should first check with MCC if they accept transfer students for the B.Com course and what the eligibility criteria and transfer process is. She should also check with WCC if they permit transfer of students to another college in the middle of the course.
