Hmm. overall, it could be the discussion topic for all expert but will give you my view here for your large satisfaction.
Actually, Indian colleges and institutes should provide more practical knowledge. What we are doing now? Making percentage, getting all theoretical knowledge but don't know where they should apply. All are running to make percentage but this is not the last stop. This is good you are securing good percentage but what about your practical life. Don't you think, you are ruining this. Anyone can make percentage by giving 8-9 hours regular study to particular course. If you want to make a different personalities among all candidates then should get other knowledge, technical, practical knowledge too.
In technical course, you are reading various laws, principles and lots of more things but what about the view of applying to those thing. Do you think, where they applies, in which industries or, machines.
So, practical knowledge also needs to be given in Indian Institutes or, colleges.

Secondly, after completing diploma in engineering you may pursue lateral B.Tech course to get direct entry into the second year. Degree course will open more career opportunities for you.

Procedure :
- To take admission, you need to sit for Lateral Entry Entrance Test or LEET which is conducted at state level. Some colleges and Universities too conduct their own lateral entry tests.
- Eligibility for admission to lateral entry course is a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in the Diploma course.
You may directly contact the university officials as lateral entry criteria and admission procedure differs from one college to another.
