There would always be institutes as well as students who are not serious about their careers. An institute's purpose is to provide you enough opportunities to learn and mentor you to be able to compete for the best jobs out there. Institutes don't create marketplaces, but help you adapt and learn according to them. For e.g. if there is recession affecting all jobs, it has same effect on companies as well. If an animator is working hard, so is his counterpart in marketing, and so is the employee in BPO (right now there is a huge issue in BPO jobs in Brazil). The opportunity lies in the number of jobs in the west/ hollywood in the animation industry which are begging to go out to the best solicitation. So if Indian studios are able to pitch well through their movies, a lot of work in the west is waiting to move to india (a lot of it already comes to india). A lot of animators and designer are required by the web industry, by the education industry, by the scientific/ medical industry, by the architectural industry. So if students would ask only for character animation work, then they must be ready to work beyond the usual courses and put in 1-2 years more in further learning before they are fit to take up the most simplest character. It would do good for students to read the biographies of some good animators and understand the kind of work required to be invested in this. This can be compared to any career in arts, like acting, film making, painting, sculpting, and even other professional careers like law, medicine, chartered accountants who all must prove themselves for many years before they attract good work.
