1.Most good institutes conduct foreign language entrance exam while some don't.
2.The entrance exam,if any, tests your basic aptitude /general knowledge,reasoning and basic English langauge.However, it will not be a bad idea to research a bit on famous Russian authors (in case you sit for Russian langauge entrance exam)or famous books by Russian authors to improve your general knowledeg about the language and the country where it is spoken the most.
3.The usual requirement is a valid 10+2 certificate and a minimum percentage of marks,which again depends from institute to institute.The range of minimum percentage of marks starts from 40% in 10+2 while for good institutes it can start from 45% to 50% in 10+2.
4.All three language Russian, Spanish and Japnese are good.While Spanish is popular language,Russian and Japnese are in demand because of globalization and improving trade relations between India and companies from Europe and Japan.
5.The time period depends on the type of course you pursue.It could be a Diploma or a Degree/Full time or part time. A regular degree course such as BA (Hons.) is advisable for proficiency & good career prospects.

I would say that your gap would not be a problem if you offer a genuine reason when applying for jobs like personal problem, health issue, etc. I would advice you to be very confident while answering the above. And also go very well prepared with the recent trends in the industry, it would increase your chances of recruitment. And as far as salary is concerned, that depends on your profile, skills and varies from one company to another. Very carefully negotiate the same.
Also you that you can opt for certifications in the domain of Networking like CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), or you may opt for JAVA, J2EE, Digital Signal Processing, VLSI Design, Embedded Systems and Industrial Automation, etc. Even SAP or Oracle will be a great idea.
All the above would certainly enhance your knowledge and aptitude as well as get you a bright future. And with additional certifications in the kitty, one can definitely expect both good designation and salary graph as well.

Well I would suggest you to look for other entrances (college specific) as this score would not get you any good college. As for now, do not ponder much, concentrate more on your preparation with the aim to crack the other exams with a much higher score.
