If you want to take admission in a government college then you have to crack GATE. If you want to take admission in a private college then you consult the colleges.
According to me, government college is better for you.

To take admission in Amravati University, you need to secure a minimum of 45% marks in 10+2 class with physics, maths and chemistry (PMC) along with that a valid MHT-CET score.
A minimum marks for open category is 45% in PMC.
Admission to B.E./B.Tech courses at Amravati University is based on candidates' performance in the MHT CET exam.

Ideally, the application process including taking the SAT etc should start a year ahead of the intakes, US universities mainly have two intakes. The Fall intake which is in Aug/Sept every year is more common. If you desire to study next year you have to submit your applications by this year end as per the university deadlines.
