It all depends on how far you are from completing the course. If you are in your final year with a few subjects to finish and struggling then i would recommend just bite down hard get as much help as you can and be done with it.
I can understand that you have no interest in the subject now and universities don't usually give out any diploma even if you have completed 75% of the course, so that's not an option. Unless you want to transfer credits to another department, where usually you might get just the first year as credit and only in the Engineering Faculty.
It also depends on how your transcript looks cause if you have a lot of fails and repeats and just passes, even after completing your degree, in the economic situation we are in, if you have no interest in the subject then the likelihood of getting a job with that diploma gets really difficult.
If you have no interest in the subject. It's difficult to remember anything you passed in your first two years of the course which doesn't help because Engineering is all about learning from your previous years. So you are having to revisit old topics for revisions every time you start a new topic. So I can understand that this was a huge chunk of your life but if you have more than a year left to complete the course then I would recommend getting a fresh start at something you enjoy, which in the long run would be healthier and refreshing.
So the reality is that if your life is going steady where you are sure that this is it, that you can actually finish it and the reasons why you couldn't aren't there anymore and if you have a good support system now then by all means try to finish. But if there is a hint of the past floating about and life still sucks then you are simply putting yourself in a position to not completing it again.
In any case whatever you decide, Don't let your past dictate your future cause you are still young and thinking about it only hurts you in the long run. I know you might have already heard this before but I would also recommend seeing a counsellor or a psychiatrist or reach out to someone who knows you very well and it never hurts to yell for help from the lecturers and the staff. Sometimes it helps to discuss this with family or friends.

No denial. It is tough; but, Sheer hard work and inspiration can help you with success. Have courage and work hard in right direction without giving heed to any negative thoughts.

2. A clear focus and a practical road map till the prelims are imperative. A precise plan on what to study each day is likely to work best.
3. First, study each topic from the IAS Prelims Magic Book, followed by the NCERT book along with other reference books. Further, continue noting down important points from the other recommended text books.
4. Make sure you read newspapers. Also, note down landmark events and breaking news reports on a daily basis. Year Books, preferably the India Year Book 2010, published by publications division, government of India, could be of help.
5. Practice and sheer practice is the true mantra for success . The new exam pattern demands nothing less than that. Try and attempt as many mock tests as possible. A good coaching institute for the same will give you an added advantage.
6. The preparation period may be tough and you may at times want to give up. But make sure you are organised and calm. This will help you to hold yourself together and remain focused.
