Both are quite well-known colleges in Bangalore. The average placements offered is around 7 LPA for both. However, the fees of XIME is slightly on the higher side (12 lakh rupees) as compared to Welingkar (10-11 lakh rupees). I would prefer XIME because of its brand name.
Hope it helps.

When it comes between VIT and SRM, I would opt for VIT University only.
VIT:
Good placements, better education and exposure. Campuses like Vellore and Chennai are better for all the courses.
Fee structure is better, but it increases with your rank. For the ranks 25000 and above, the fees will be INR 6-8 lakhs per annum or more.
SRM:
The main campus of SRM University is widely preferred. It offers better education and placements. The infrastructure is also good.
The fees structure is better, but in management quota it will be more.
Prefer VIT University even if you get SRM University. But don't choose Bhopal and Amaravati campuses, as we

Every MBA / MMS college accepts one common exam called CAT exam which is quite hard. For those who feel difficult to crack CAT examination have other exams as per state and college or university. It is almost based on the level of difficulty and college criteria of selection. That's why there are so many entrance exams for colleges instead of one.

As per the college criteria, 70% percentile is the minimum requirement for eligibility which makes the case of your friend to face difficulty for Christ University, Bengaluru. There are other colleges where your friend can try and have feasible chances to get selected.

For PGDM, along with your competitive exam scores, you will be evaluated on basis of your past academic record, a group discussion (or a test similar to that) and an interview. So, I suggest that you apply and work towards giving your GD and cracking the interview successfully. All the best.

This draft is to be deposited at the time of GD-PI.
As for the GD-PI process, FMS calls professors and experts from other colleges and faculties to keep the process as fair as possible and choose the best amongst the lot.
Also, for the various arrangements that are done, we also gave the DD at our time
So did our seniors and super seniors and others.I am very sure that none of us regret it .
We all know FMS-BHU gives an amazing ROI which is hardly given by any college.
So, I don't think this 2000 is a big deal in front of Rs 20 lakhs and so one is supposed to pay at other B-Schools.
Trust me, you are not going to repent it.
