Hello Sai Prasanna,
As far as I know, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, SRM University, Hindustan University and Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai, only offer courses in robotics and automation in Tamil Nadu.
The cut-offs for these two colleges (PSG and Thiagarajar) are very high. I think you have very low cut off marks. You may get a seat if you belong to SC, ST, SCA categories only.
For previous year's cut-off marks refer: www.cutoff.tnea.ac.in
If you mention your caste then I may help you with more details.

As per the reviews I have got, Chetana is much more preferable for the marketing students as there is a special course offered by the institute for the same. At MET, not only the final placement but the internships as well are very well recognised for Operations especially in your case. The Infrastructure and the faculty members at MET are any day better than Chetana.

The average package is Rs 5.5 lakhs annually. The starting salary cannot be fixed. It entirely depends on your performance. You can get even the highest package if you perform well.
As marketing students are more in number so there are more companies for marketing. But all the students get placed from all the departments.
