Physical therapists (physiotherapists) are health care professionals who restore mobility, alleviate pain and suffering and work to prevent permanent disability in patients. Physical therapists test and measure neurological, pulmonary, musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems and treat problems related to these body systems which could be due to illness, injury or congenital disorders.
Eligibility:
For Bachelor's programme, you should have completed 12th class with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with a minimum aggregate of 50% and for Master's in Physiotherapy, you must be a graduate in the subject.
Career prospects:
Physiotherapists work in orthopaedic centres, hospitals (civil/defense), schools for the handicapped, rehabilitation centers and in private and government hospitals and clinics. Graduates of Physiotherapy may also study and work in emergency care.
Freshers begin with a stipend of approximately Rs 5000 - Rs 7000. But by four years the payscale generally goes upto Rs 3 lakhs per annum.

Eligibility
A BE or B.Tech aspirant must have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as their subject options in Class 12. Until now, the candidates used to apply separately for IIT-JEE, AIEEE, state-level engineering entrance exams, as well as entrance exams conducted by various engineering institutes. The scenario is expected to change from 2013, when a single engineering entrance exam will be conducted for all the engineering colleges in India.
Now, engineering aspirants also have to pay more attention to their Class 12 scores as they will have an equal weightage in the merit list.
Career Prospects
After BE or B.Tech, you may want to join a job in their field directly or may choose to study further. For management careers, you can prepare for CAT as an entry gateway to top 15-20 management colleges in India. Study abroad aspirants will have to prepare for GRE and GMAT to get entry into colleges in US, UK, Australia, Canada, Europe or New Zealand.
For academics or career in research, you can pursue an MS course from abroad or specialise further in your field with an ME or M.Tech course. To apply for an M.Tech programme at any of the IITs or ISB, Bangalore, engineers have to appear for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). PSUs like Bhabha Atomic research Centre (BARC), and Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) give preference to candidates with good GATE scores.
