It can be quite rewarding if you learn SAP and become good at it. The courses are quite expensive (well over 1000 USD and depends on your country).
As for career scope, already there are so many SAP qualified people, that employers are in a position to pick and choose only the very best for their companies. In other words if you do SAP you've got to be really good at it to get a job.

If you have 15 years of work experience in travel Retail then how come you are saying that you don't have experience in Retail sector. Yes, if you are planning to any other retail sector say food retail or fashion retail then it is altogether a different thing, for that I would suggest that you should plan for higher studies, as in you should go for MBA in Retail or Sales & Marketing.
